Well-located, self-check-in lodging. Organized and equipped with everything needed, including a kitchen for cooking and tea/coffee facilities. Clean rooms and common areas, along with a highly appreciated gesture of providing tea and coffee. A great base for outdoor activities in the area. A resident deer family adds charm and delight.

The check-in process was smooth, even though we arrived late. The detailed instructions provided beforehand made it easy for us to settle in. The room was clean and cozy, perfect for a comfortable stay. We also appreciated the fully equipped self-catering kitchen, allowing us to prepare our own meals. Additionally, the lounge area with games, books, movies, and TV provided a nice space to relax and unwind.
The bathroom amenities ran out quickly, and we had to remember to bring our own tissues. Additionally, the beds were quite uncomfortable, especially for those with back problems.

Helpful staff, located above main street, book-in at Black Water Hostel, transport provided. Lovely quiet location, great views, good facilities. Warm showers, clean toilets, well-equipped kitchen, lots of fridges and freezers, drying room. Friendly guests. Good village amenities nearby. Inexpensive mountain setting with bunk bed rooms, own heater, communal spaces, shared bathrooms. Another hostel option with private and mixed dorm rooms. Typical youth hostel, steep path, national ice climbing centre and restaurants close by.

Value for money was excellent, with clean rooms and comfortable bedding. The location amidst beautiful mountains made it perfect for hiking. The staff, especially the owner Collum, were attentive and caring.
Breakfast offerings could be improved with more variety or options.

The hostel is in a beautiful mountain setting, which provides a serene and picturesque backdrop for your stay. You can enjoy the peacefulness and tranquility of the surroundings. The rooms are clean, and each room has its own heater for your comfort. The shared bathrooms are attractively decorated and very clean. The hostel also has a well-equipped kitchen, a dining/socializing room, and a lounge with comfy couches where you can relax and unwind.
Some guests mentioned that the description on the website was not very clear, which caused confusion when trying to find the hostel.

The location of the lodge was perfect for exploring the beautiful Glencoe area. It was within a short drive to Fort William and had plenty of nearby activities and scenic locations for photography. The staff at the reception were friendly and welcoming, providing excellent service. The accommodation was kept exceptionally clean throughout, ensuring a comfortable stay.
The lodge lacked sufficient toilet facilities for the number of guests, with only one full toilet available. The thin walls made it difficult to get a good night's rest, as noises from other guests could be heard.

Stayed at the lodge for the second time while trekking the West Highland Way. Clean room, comfortable bed. Saw deer near the lodge in the morning. Convenient location close to train station and high street. Easy check-in process with a code for the main door and key left at the reception desk. Great choice for groups, offering privacy. Added to my list of potential accommodations for future trips. Nice common areas, well-equipped kitchen with tea and coffee available.
Not easy to find. 🧭

I couldn't have asked for better value for my money at the West Highland Lodge. The room was clean, comfortable, and had an amazing view. The location was great for hiking and there were a couple of restaurants nearby. The staff treated me with kindness and made sure I had everything I needed.
Breakfast delights could be improved with more variety.

The location of the hostel is convenient for outdoor enthusiasts, with easy access to the West Highland Way and the Ice Factor climbing centre. The kitchen facilities are great, allowing guests to prepare their own meals. The hostel offers a separate drying room, which is helpful for drying wet gear after a day of hiking.
The shower system in the hostel is not ideal, as it requires pressing a button instead of having a free-flowing shower.

Clean lodge with great views, facilities, and friendly guests. Well-equipped kitchen, cozy lounge with games and TV, and a dining area with another TV. Convenient short walk to a local shop to replenish supplies. a delightful place to stay for hiking and outdoor activities.

The kitchen was well-equipped and had lots of things to use. the bathroom was also very clean and maintained well. the location was great for exploring the Glencoe and Fort William area, which was exactly what we were looking for. We were able to easily access the beautiful mountains and enjoy some amazing hiking trails. the staff at the check-in location were helpful and provided us with clear instructions.
That there was no reception at the hotel itself, which meant that if we needed anything, we had to go to a different hostel. This was a little inconvenient at times.

Our recent stay at a lodge in the Glencoe area was fantastic. The location was perfect, with beautiful scenery and plenty of nearby activities. The accommodation was kept impeccably clean and the facilities were great. The self check-in process was easy and efficient. We especially loved the dry room and storage shed for our bikes. One highlight was spotting a couple of deer in the area. Despite some minor drawbacks like thin walls and occasional noise, our overall experience at the lodge was excellent. We would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a clean, well-located accommodation option. I would highly recommend this hotel.
